At the invitation of the Center of Excellence Logistics and IT, researchers from the University of Poznan visited Dortmund at the end of November. The joint meeting once again promoted international exchange. After a short introduction to the Center of Excellence, the participants devoted themselves to the technical topics: In short and to-the-point lectures, the Polish scientists presented the current state of their research on maturity models in logistics, logistics 4.0 and artificial intelligence in logistics. Among other things, the Center of Excellence provided information on its projects in the fields of machine learning, simulation and optimization.
In the subsequent discussion, future cooperation possibilities were explored – from the participation of Polish doctoral candidates in the Summer School of the Graduate School of Logistics in Dortmund to joint international workshops. Finally, the group was able to get an impression of the research infrastructure at the science location during a guided tour through the test halls of the Fraunhofer IML.
Numerous employees of the Center of Excellence took the opportunity to get to know the Polish scientists, discuss current ideas with them and receive new input for their topics.
