On July 9 and 10, researchers from the Center of Excellence Logistics and IT presented projects and methods of machine learning to the participants of the 5th International PhD Summer School of the Graduate School of Logistics. On the first day Oliver Urbann reported on two projects for the application of ML for the automatic colour calibration of robot cameras for object recognition and the use of KNN for counting people depending on their direction of movement. Markus Witthaut then gave an overview of methods and tools for machine learning. On the second day experiments on the parameterization of neural networks for classification application cases were carried out in small groups with the participants of the Summer School 2019. Application cases and methods were very well received by the participants.
