The Center of Excellence Logistics and IT was once again an active part of Digital Week Dortmund this year and was represented with several event formats.

The EDIH Days kicked off on Monday with the visit of various delegations from Korea, Israel, Mexico, Poland, Finland and many other countries. Maik Hausmann, one of the heads of the Center of Excellence Logistics and IT, presented the team’s work in a compact presentation. During a subsequent lab tour, the international guests had the opportunity to experience and test state-of-the-art solutions live and gain valuable insights into current projects.

In the afternoon, the OFacT project, which is a continuation of the RIOTANA performance center project, hosted an exciting workshop on site. A digital twin was created jointly and practically from standard data sets and key figures on orders, assembly processes and resources were visualized using simulation. Participants were able to work with the analysis without any prior knowledge of SQL or programming.

Digital Week Dortmund facilitated numerous stimulating encounters and helped the Center of Excellence Logistics and IT to provide new impetus for the transfer of research into practice. Visitors were able to gain insights into practical technologies, experience and test them and discuss with experts how innovative approaches are shaping the logistics of the future. We would like to thank all participants, partners and organizers for their commitment and the constructive discussions.
