The focus at the first TRANSFER.FESTIVAL of Digital Hub Logistics and Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, from 9.30 a.m. to 10 p.m. in Dortmund will be on the transfer of new technologies into practice. The Center of Excellence Logistics and IT will participate in the event with a workshop on its Escape Game, which invites visitors to discover the latest technologies. The TRANSFER.FESTIVAL is aimed at industry, small and medium-sized enterprises, research and young talents, and includes not only the Center of Excellence but also the Hybrid Services in Logistics Innovation Laboratory, the Graduate School of Logistics, the International Data Spaces Association, Digital in NRW – Competence for Small and Medium Enterprises and ML2R – the Rhine-Ruhr Machine Learning Competence Centre. “With the TRANSFER.FESTIVAL, we are breaking new ground in research in the transfer of knowledge, because this is exactly what digitalisation also demands of companies,” says Maria Beck of the Digital Hub Logistics, explaining the innovative event format. “We want to inspire and motivate the participants to network and experience the added value of digitisation in a creative environment”.
According to the motto “Just do it – it could be good!”, various workshops for “doers, decision-makers, innovation drivers, problem solvers, digital experts and lateral thinkers” will take place at the Fraunhofer IML – from “Think Tank Business Models” to “Implementing Machine Learning” to a “Science Slam”. In the morning and after the lunch break there will be seven parallel workshops, after the coffee break there will be another four simultaneous formats. The workshop of the “Escape Room – Management of Industry 4.0” oft he Center of Excellence is scheduled for 1.45 pm. Throughout the day, the accompanying programme includes a “Fair of Initiatives” for testing, trying out and discussing. An overview of the complete program can be found here.
With the TRANSFER.FESTIVAL, , Digital Hub Logistics and Fraunhofer IML as well as the participating initiatives will demonstrate how new concepts and strategies strengthen companies, scientific findings enable companies to play a pioneering role and new methods improve everyday professional life. The aim is to make the added value of networking and digitization tangible. The TRANSFER.FESTIVAL also wants to prove that in the heart of the Ruhr area, the “pott-maker” mentality continues to be lived. Dortmund is therefore not only an important spot for logistics and IT research, but also an interesting business location where many new developments are taking place.
The Digital Hub Logistics accepts registrations with immediate effect. The closing date for registration is 25 June 2019. A fee of 49 euros will be charged for participation.
