The paper “Machine Learning Methods for Detection of Epileptic Seizures with Long-Term Wearable Devices” was developed as part of the BMBF-funded project EPItect – sensor-based seizure detection (FK: 16SV7482).The paper, written by the three scientists Salima Houta, Pinar Bisgin and Pascal Dulich, was awarded the “Best Paper Award” at the eTELEMED 2019 (Eleventh International Conference on eHealth, Telemedicine, and Social Medicine) in Athens due to the reviews of the original paper, the camera-like version and the presentation during the conference. The authors of the five best papers were also invited to send an extended article version to one of the IARIA journals.
The Fraunhofer ISST is part of the Center of Excellence Logistics and IT, which coordinates the cooperation of different institutes in order to strengthen data processing and AI at the Dortmund location.
